Loving and protecting animals is not a lifestyle choice but a moral obligation of the human world:
we took away their environments and natural ways of living; we owe them.
— Wilfred Y. Wang

This is my personal website where I document my works at university and community organizations.

I am the Lecturer in Media & Communications at The University of Melbourne, Australia, where I teach and research in media technologies and society.

I am the author of Digital Media in Urban China Locating Guangzhou, feel free to check it out.

I am a digital media researcher who loves cultural geography, who thinks about media culture through the lens of space and place

I like ‘city’ a lot, it’s an interesting spatial unit.

When I travel in a city I could just sit there,
looking at people walking pass and cars driving by.

You can learn from seeing these: the story, ways of life, structure, and the temporality that belong to this urban space.

It can be incredible

I have set aside a blog page here, about ‘cities’ - those I’ve been to and lived at - documenting and reflecting on my experience and ideas about these places.

Born in Guangzhou, China and grew up in Melbourne, Australia, I earned my PhD from Queensland University of Technology at Brisbane in 2015.

I live in Melbourne with my partner and two adorable Westies: Peko and Milo.

And yes, I love animals !!
